DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The following are descriptions of common treatments / applications performed by the Kinnucan Plant Health Care and Lawn Care Technicians.
Anti-Desiccant Program:2 to 3 foliar applications between December and March to prevent the winter moisture loss in evergreens during cold winter months.
Arbortect Injection:A fungicide injection into to base of the trunk of Elm trees to help control Dutch Elm Disease. Applied between June and September; every 2 years.
Core Aeration:Removal of soil plugs from the ground and deposited in the turf, allows air to the roots of your lawn enabling them to grow stronger and resist weeds and disease; loosens compacted soil and allows micro-organisms to breakdown thatch layers.
Dormant Oil Application:Horticultural oil applied as a topical application in early Spring to help control over-wintering mite and insect eggs. Applied in late Winter to early Spring – weather permitting.
Elm Bark Beetle Treatment:An insecticide application on Elms to help control Elm Bark Beetle from transmitting the spread of Dutch Elm Disease from tree to tree. Applied mid-April through May, annually.
Emerald Ash Borer Treatment:An injection of the chemical Tree-age to help control Emerald Ash Borer, every 2 years.
Foliar Treatment Program / Foliar Treatment:An insecticide Foliar application(s) to help control foliar feeding insects on trees.
Groundcover Program:3 applications to control scale insects on groundcover such as Euonymus. Dormant Oil is applied in early Spring and followed by two insecticide treatments.
Growth Regulator:Cambistat is applied at the base of the tree to help trees recover from decline, drought and construction stress. Applied every 3 years.
Grub Application:An application to keep the level of grub worms to a minimum in order to keep your lawn healthy.
Lawn Fungicide Program:1-3 applications of fungicide for both preventative and curative treatments to control turf diseases such as Summer Patch, Blight, Dollar Spot, Red Thread and Snow Mold.
Lawn Care Program:6 Applications throughout the growing season to give you a superior lawn. Early Spring: A slow release fertilization with pre-emergent Crab Grass control; Late Spring: A liquid fertilization with broadleaf weed control; Early Summer: A slow release fertilization with spot treatment for broadleaf weeds; Late Summer: A slow release fertilization with spot treatment for broadleaf weeds; Early Fall: A complete balanced liquid fertilization and broadleaf weed control; Late Fall: A winter fertilization to promote root development and faster green up in the spring. Organic programs are available.
Fungicide Application:A foliar application to help control foliar diseases applied at various stages throughout the growing season.
Magnolia Scale Program:3 applications to control scale insects on Magnolias. Dormant Oil is applied in early Spring; followed by 2 soil injections of systemic insecticide: 1 after flowering and 1 in September.
Safari Trunk Application:A systemic liquid applied to the trunk of the tree to control scale and foliar feeding insects.
Systemic Injection:An injection into the trunk to help control specific insect or disease problems.
Merit Root Fertilization:A systemic, soil injected insecticide combined with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to help control insect problems and promote the health and vigor of trees and shrubs.
Mite Program:3 foliar applications throughout the season to control mites on evergreens & deciduous trees. Dormant Oil is applied in early Spring; followed by 2 miticide applications.
Ornamental Treatment Program:4 foliar applications to help control insects & diseases on ornamental trees such as Crabapples, Hawthorns and Serviceberries. Dormant Oil is applied in early Spring; followed by 3 foliar applications of an insecticide/fungicide mix applied at bud break, leaf expansion, and when fully foliated.
Evergreen Fungicide Program:3 foliar applications to help control foliar diseases such as Needle Blight and Needle Cast on pines, spruce, and boxwood applied at various stages throughout the growing season.
Spring / Fall Chlorosis Fertilization:Soil injected liquid micronutrients applied in the Spring and/or Fall to help control Manganese and Iron deficiencies in trees and shrubs.
Spring / Fall Soil Injected Fertilization:Soil injected slow-release liquid fertilizer applied in the Spring and/or Fall to promote both healthy, vigorous root growth as well as increased foliage production of the plants.
Verdur Treatment:Provides iron that restores a chlorotic shade tree’s ability to perform important physiological functions. Verdur significantly reduces interveinal chlorosis symptoms and increases chlorophyll production for approx. 3 growing seasons.
